Recycling Our IT Equipment with Recycle-IT

A Step Towards a Greener Future

At JYM Partnership, we believe that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a responsibility. Recently, we took a big step in reducing our environmental footprint by recycling our office IT equipment.

Why Recycling IT Equipment Matters

  • Protecting the environment: Electronic waste contains materials that can harm the planet if not disposed of properly.
  • Recovering valuable resources: Metals and components can be reused, reducing the need for new raw materials.
  • Data security: Professional recycling ensures sensitive information is securely destroyed.

Partnering with Recycle-IT

We partnered with Recycle-IT, a trusted company specializing in IT asset disposal and recycling. Their team made the process seamless:

  • Collection: They handled the safe removal of our old equipment directly from our office.
  • Responsible recycling: Devices were processed in line with environmental standards.
  • Peace of mind: We were assured that all data-bearing devices were securely wiped or destroyed.

Looking Ahead

This initiative is just one of many steps we’re taking to build a more sustainable workplace. By working with Recycle-IT, we’ve ensured that our outdated equipment doesn’t end up in landfill, but instead contributes to a circular economy. We are pleased to report that Recycle-IT produced a report which confirmed they had managed to reuse 56% of the equipment collected.

Final Thoughts

Recycling IT equipment isn’t just about clearing space in the office — it’s about making a positive impact on the planet. We’re proud to have partnered with Recycle-IT and encourage other businesses to consider responsible recycling for their own IT assets.

Structural Repairs to Seafront Apartment Building

Scaffold is starting to go up on first Phase of a wider project to undertake extensive structural repairs to a residential apartment building on the seafront in Lytham St Annes.

Over time, as with any structure, this apartment building has withstood the north west England climate but its sea front location means that the weather conditions can be particularly severe.  Early structural assessments undertaken by Reid Jones Partnership Structural Engineers indicated problems with the façade and so JYM Partnership were engaged by the Management Company to lead a design team to undertake necessary remedial works.

Working with the Management Company, residents, Managing Agent (Realty Management) and consultancy team, JYM Partnership’s Chartered Building Surveyors have put together a scheme of works which will not only repair problems for the long term, we will also add some architectural interest to the façade.

Phase 1 is being completed by Rosslee Construction and is due to complete in Summer 2025.  We are excited to see the results of a lot of hard work.

Corpus Christi High School Chapel

Our Architects are proud to have created a Chaplaincy and Chapel for the Staff and Students of Corpus Christi Catholic High School, Preston. Converted from two end of life food tech rooms, the Chapel and Chaplaincy was created to provide a dedicated space for hospitality, support and reflection. At the heart of the Chapel are two stained glass windows, specially commissioned by Corpus Christi and created by Pendle Stained Glass in Padiham.
