CDM Advisors

CDM Advisors

The new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) came into force on the 6th April 2015. The changes in the Regulations affect all involved in the procurement and delivery of construction projects. The CITB has published various guidance notes for those parties involved:

At JYM Partnership we have embraced the change by providing all staff with focused CPD on the new duties implied by the Regulations and utilising the skills of our qualified Principal Designers to review our internal procedures and to advise our clients upon the changes to ensure a seamless transition.  Our current Principal Designers can offer a continued service as a CDM Advisor to Clients and Designers who are unsure of their duties under the Regulations

We will maintain our various Accreditations, including our CHAS Accreditation as Designers. CHAS are a founder member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP), a key route to health and safety pre-qualification.

Should you wish to discuss the regulations further and how they impact upon your delivery or programme,  please contact our Chris Bell, tel 01772 323666 or email chris.bell@jympartnership.co.uk

CDM 2015

  • Principal Designer. The replacement of the CDM co-ordinator role (under CDM 2007) by principal designer. This means that the responsibility for coordination of the pre-construction phase – which is crucial to the management of any successful construction project – will rest with an existing member of the design team.
  • Client. The new Regulations recognise the influence and importance of the client as the head of the supply chain and they are best placed to set standards throughout a project.
  • Competence. This will be split into its component parts of skills, knowledge, training and experience, and - if it relates to an organisation – organisational capability. This will provide clarity and help the industry to both assess and demonstrate that construction project teams have the right attributes to deliver a healthy and safe project.

Our approach to Architecture is not based on a specific house style, but rather on a foundation of design excellence combined with active and strong management. This ensures that time, cost and quality criteria are achieved, whilst responsibly responding to our heritage and environmental commitments. We believe that this ethos can be delivered as a result of the thorough and professional approach to the design process taken by our Multi-disciplinary Consultancy teams, ensuring that our proposals are always founded firmly in reality.
